Gandia
The historical and cultural market town of
Gandia, with its neighbouring tiny rustic villages, many which
have existed here for centuries, is situated 65 km south of
Valencia and 116 km north of Alicante.
Gandia with its miles of (award winning) unblemished
fine sandy beaches and clear blue water also offers you all
the sea-related sports such as fishing, windsurfing, sailing,
(a nautical club and marina), swimming and water-skiing etc.
Other sports offered are tennis, athletics, basketball and
football, as well as golf quite close by.
The town offers very convenience from all types
of shopping, sports facilities, an active nightlife, very
good schools and an excellent health service. Not forgetting,
of course, the delectable Spanish restaurants were the gastronomy
is original, a feast to the eyes and palate. Serving a wide
variety of dishes from the typical fideuá, paella type
dish (with the rice substituted by noodles) to the assorted
seafood, fresh fish, local sausages, cold meat and rice dishes.
An excellent 18 hole golf course in the nearby
town of Oliva situated just 9 km from Gandia is a haven of
peace and tranquillity for golf lovers.
The area is abundant with a large variety
of trees and orchards including lemon, fig, olive etc. Just
to mention a few and the extensive oranges groves blossom
through March and April, are a joy to senses.
