TORREVIEJA
Torrevieja is located south of Alicante next
to the crystal clear waters of Spain's Costa Blanca and surrounded
by two large natural saltwater lakes. It is 47 km from Alicante,
the provisional capital, and 35 km form the airport "El
Altet".
Torrevieja stands for out for its conversion
in recent years into a first-rate tourist centre, apart from
its wonderful dry and regular climate throughout the year
due to the salt lakes nearby.
This area offers many inviting and attractive
characteristic like it's magnificent beaches of fine sand,
coves, pine clad sand dunes, walks, parks, gardens and natural
beauty spots; all this combined with historic buildings, squares,
monuments and churches to make Torrevieja a culture to savour.
The many real estate developments residential
complexes, residential areas and quiet places to relax and
amuse are examples of its tourist guarantee. This city has
for its visitors one of the best yacht clubs in Spain, tennis
and golf clubs, a flying club, a municipal sport centre, and
is specialised for water sports.
The area offers a wealth of amenities for relaxation
and recreation, including Golf Clubs, Yacht Clubs, Tennis
Clubs, Flying Club, Water Park, Theatres Cafes and Bars. There
is a large open-air market, held each Friday, selling fresh
local produce, fish, leather goods etc.
There are numerous restaurants provide cuisine
for all tastes, from traditional Spanish Tapas to the delights
of Italian, French, Chinese, Indian and Mexican food.
Each month Torrevieja celebrates a different
Festival, or 'Fiesta' with a riot of colour, tradition, music
and dance, including "la Habanera" a special rejoicing
of Torrevieja sailing history and early salt trade days with
Cuba.
With its warm climate, friendly people
and countless amenities Torrevieja makes the perfect location
for a holiday home or permanent residence.
