Oliva
The fine sand beach is surrounded, almost all
along its 10 Km. by a natural dune, which is the only separation
between the orange tree fields and the sea.
It has a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and
moderate hot summers. The proximity to the sea acts as a regulating
element, avoiding the thermal oscillations.
Oliva's mild weather allows you to enjoy the
sea almost all year round. Windsurf lovers will find the perfect
place to practice: windsurfing schools and beaches reserved
for them where people are not allowed to swim are available.
The Nautical Club offers moorage to ships and boats as well
as sailing courses.
A nice, quiet walk under twilight by the masts
of the boots and the colourful architecture of the sailing
district may end on a relaxed summer terrace or an animated
xiringuito by the sea.
The Mediterranean Sea and the rivers Bullent
and Molinell make of Oliva a privileged place for fishing
lovers. During the tuna season pieces of 300 Kg. are captured.
The natural dune surrounding the coast is of
important ecologic value for being one of the best conserved
among the few left in this part of the Mediterranean. It constitutes
an added attractiveness to the beach sojourn, sensibly increasing
the landscape's quality showing the great beauty of its original
aspect.
Valencia Airport is 75 km southeast of Oliva and 100 km from
Alicante Airport. Oliva is connected to via highway A7 to
Denia, Altea Benidorm Alicante.
